    We Salute Illinois Workers!

From all of us at Citizens for Lisa Madigan, we wish all Illinois workers a happy Labor Day!

This important holiday is a national tribute to the labor movement and the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. And even though times are tough, it’s important that we pay tribute to all our working families, the heart and soul of our nation, our State and our communities.

Over the next three days, Lisa and our staff will be busy saluting and honoring Illinois workers at events across Illinois.

Please join us in honoring the labor movement as well as all those who work hard every day. Happy Labor Day!

    The Power of Your Voice!

Your voice has power. Your voice has the ability to move people. Your voice can help guarantee the re-election of our Attorney General, Lisa Madigan.

This fall, we are launching a friends and family drive, where good folks like you from around the State can use their voice—and their rolodex—to help re-elect Lisa Madigan.

We've made it really simple for Lisa's supporters to reach out to their own network of friends, family and colleagues and encourage them to vote for Lisa so she can keep fighting to protect Illinois families.

Will you use your powerful voice to encourage your friends and family to vote for Lisa Madigan?

It's simple and free to participate. On your behalf, we will send your network a personalized letter from you encouraging them to 1) vote on November 2nd and 2) vote for Lisa Madigan for Attorney General. It’s as easy as that.

Please contact our office to enroll. As the Friends and Family Coordinator, you can call me at 312-670-0606 or email me at kellan@lisamadigan.org.

Your voice and support will help us create a powerful grassroots movement that will ensure Lisa can continue her work to protect our kids, our seniors and our families.

    Kellan Smith

    Friends and Family Coordinator

P.S. You can also be a powerful voice for Lisa in your own front yard! Call our office to obtain a free Lisa Madigan for Attorney General yard sign.

    Organize, agitate, educate!

“Organize, agitate, educate, must be our war cry.”—Susan B. Anthony

Ninety years ago today, the 19th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified, giving all American women the right to vote and declaring for the first time they, like men, deserve all the rights and responsibilities of full citizenship.

Being granted this right to vote took courageous activists and reformers more than 100 years of diligent and dedicated hard work. Our “foremothers” endured hunger strikes, physical harassment, and social scorn to stand up and fight for what they knew was right and for the liberties we enjoy today.

We’ve come a long way since 1920, but we’d be wrong to take these freedoms for granted. We must make our voices heard once again on November 2nd.

Recently, my campaign launched a new women’s program that’s working to create a force in Illinois to ensure women come out and vote in the November 2nd election.

I encourage all of you to sign up for our “Making a Difference in 2010.” It takes only 2 hours of your time each week and the program makes it easy for you to call women in your neighborhood to make sure they vote this year. Calls can be done at a regional campaign office or in the comfort of your own home. Please take action now, secure a brighter future for women across our State, and help with my reelection. Join “Making the Difference in 2010” by clicking here.

This election, we must unite, stand together as the suffragists did and make our voices heard. We must stand up for our rights and ensure our liberties are protected for our daughters, granddaughters, and for future generations to come.
