Organize, agitate, educate!

“Organize, agitate, educate, must be our war cry.”—Susan B. Anthony

Ninety years ago today, the 19th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified, giving all American women the right to vote and declaring for the first time they, like men, deserve all the rights and responsibilities of full citizenship.

Being granted this right to vote took courageous activists and reformers more than 100 years of diligent and dedicated hard work. Our “foremothers” endured hunger strikes, physical harassment, and social scorn to stand up and fight for what they knew was right and for the liberties we enjoy today.

We’ve come a long way since 1920, but we’d be wrong to take these freedoms for granted. We must make our voices heard once again on November 2nd.

Recently, my campaign launched a new women’s program that’s working to create a force in Illinois to ensure women come out and vote in the November 2nd election.

I encourage all of you to sign up for our “Making a Difference in 2010.” It takes only 2 hours of your time each week and the program makes it easy for you to call women in your neighborhood to make sure they vote this year. Calls can be done at a regional campaign office or in the comfort of your own home. Please take action now, secure a brighter future for women across our State, and help with my reelection. Join “Making the Difference in 2010” by clicking here.

This election, we must unite, stand together as the suffragists did and make our voices heard. We must stand up for our rights and ensure our liberties are protected for our daughters, granddaughters, and for future generations to come.

2 Hours Makes All the Difference

Here at our campaign office, we are working to create a force in Illinois to ensure Lisa Madigan is re-elected, be we need YOUR help to be successful. Would you like to be part of the winning team that gets Lisa re-elected this Fall?

As the Volunteer Coordinator at Citizens for Lisa Madigan, I’m looking for committed folks who want to help Lisa because they want her to continue the work she is doing to protect our families.

Right now, we are asking for only two hours each week to help us contact Illinois voters, talk to them about Lisa’s record, and ask for their support on Election Day.

You can make these calls at a regional campaign office—where phones, snacks and camaraderie are provided—or you can call from the comfort of your own home.

To sign up, call me at 312-670-0606 or email me at Kellan@lisamadigan.org

Please give two hours a week to protect families across our State by re-electing Lisa Madigan!

Getting to Know You!

There is nothing more rewarding about my job than meeting and talking to folks from around our great State.

I’m fortunate that I get to meet people from all walks of life and listen to their concerns, their hopes for the future, and what I can do to make their lives better.

As your Attorney General, I’ve taken what I’ve heard and put it into action. I’ve made protecting women, children and seniors a top priority, safeguarded Illinois consumers, made government more accountable and ensured our hard-earned taxpayer dollars are spent effectively and efficiently.

On this website, you can take a look at some of the people that I’ve met throughout my travels on my Picture Gallery.

Looking forward to getting to know YOU soon!

Welcome to my Blog!

I’m excited to be able to discuss with you the work that I’m doing to protect the people of Illinois and bring you news about my re-election campaign.

As you know, on July 8, 2009, I decided to seek another term as Illinois Attorney General, a job that I love.  I am so fortunate to be able to help people everyday.  Last year, over 30,000 people sought help from my office – many of whom had nowhere else to turn.

While in college, I interned with the late Senator Paul Simon. He was a true public servant who made his staff believe that each of us could make a difference in the world.  He inspired me to go to South Africa to teach at a high school for young Zulu women during the era of apartheid.  Later, it was Senator Simon who encouraged me to run for public office.  It has been a true honor to be able to serve the people of Illinois in his tradition.

When I was elected in 2002, I pledged to be the People’s Lawyer – working to help ordinary people. I am proud of what I have been able to accomplish.  I hope you’ll take a few minutes to review my record on – children, seniors, homeowners, consumer protection, healthcare, violence, the environment, equal opportunity and battling corruption – and let me know what you think.

Please check back here for regular updates and sign up for my Facebook page by clicking on the Facebook icon on my home page.  You can also contact me or my campaign here info@LisaMadigan.org.

Thank you for taking time to check out my website, and I hope I have earned your vote on November 2, 2010.
